Frequently asked questions
What is the Fin Nifty option chain?
It is a strike-by-strike table of Fin Nifty call and put contracts for a selected expiry, including premiums, open interest, change in OI, volume, implied volatility and Greeks where available.
How should open interest be read?
Open interest is the number of outstanding contracts at a strike. A concentration shows where positions are clustered, but OI alone does not identify whether every position was bought or written.
What is change in OI?
Change in OI shows how many open contracts were added or closed during the session. Combine it with price and volume rather than treating it as an automatic signal.
What are PCR and Max Pain?
PCR compares put and call open interest for the selected scope. Max Pain is a changing calculation based on the current OI distribution. Neither is a guaranteed market level or trading signal.
